Dr Eric Tonge
BDS MSc Dorth RCS
Eric Tonge is one of Britain's leading orthodontists. He qualified
in dentistry at University College Hospital London then studied
orthodontics at The Eastman Dental Hospital.
In 1980 he joined one of Europe's busiest orthodontic
practices based in Holland. Whilst still working there, in
1986 Dr. Tonge was invited to become a partner in a prestigious
practice in the West End of London and returned to the Eastman
to teach in the Orthodontic Department. He then established
Bath Orthodontics some four years later, and relocated to
larger premises in 1997.
Dr. Tonge was elected to the committee of the British Association
of Orthodontists and joined the Standards Committee of the
British Orthodontic Society. He is also an International Member
of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr Anthony Lam
BDS (Hons), MSc (Lond), MOrth RCS (Edin)
Anthony Lam is an internationally recognised Specialist Orthodontist. He is a clinical teacher in Orthodontics at Guy's Hospital, London, and a member of a number of local and international Orthodontic Societies. He qualified as a dentist at the University of Melbourne and then gained an MSc in Orthodontics at the University of London.
He was awarded the Professor Philip Walther Prize for outstanding performance as part of his MSc and obtained membership of The Royal College of Surgeons upon qualification. Since then, he has worked in private orthodontic practice in the South East region.
His main areas of interest are invisible cosmetic orthodontic braces including the Incognito Lingual appliances, Invisalign, Ceramic and Damon System appliances. |

Dr Neil Counihan
BDS (Lond) CERTorth (New York)
Neil Counihan is one of the UK's leading orthodontists. He qualified
in dentistry at Kings College Hospital London then studied orthodontics
at New York University.
In 1995 on returning from the United States
he was invited to join one of London's most modern straight-wire
practices. Subsequently in 2000 he opened a prestigious private
practice in Battersea.
Dr Counihan is a Registered Specialist in Orthodontics at
the General Dental Council of the UK and is an active member
of the British and European Orthodontic Societies. He is also
one of a handful of American trained orthodontists working
in this country.
Dr Shivani Patel
BDS (Hons), MFDS RCSP (Glas), MSc (Lond), IMOrth RCPS(Glas), FDS(Orth) RCS(Eng)
Shivani Patel is a Locum orthodontic consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, as well as being a member of the clinical team at Elleven Orthodontics. She qualified as a dentist at the United Medical and Dental Schools in London (Guys Hospital) and then studied orthodontics at the Royal London Hospital.
Since qualifying, she has worked in a variety of dental facilities including maxillofacial and oral surgery. As part of her Masters qualification, she was awarded the European Orthodontic Society’s prestigious William Houston Award for research in Sleep Apnoea.
She was awarded a Fellowship in Orthodontics by the Royal College of Surgeons after her further clinical and academic training at Guys Hospital and the Queen Victoria Hospital, West Sussex. This is where she gained experience in treating patients requiring multidisciplinary care such as Orthognathic Surgery and children with Cleft Lip and Palate, as well as teaching postgraduate students.
Her special interests include multidisciplinary clinics (hypodontia) and snoring/sleep apnoea.
